Sørlandet Port of Knowledge Arendal
Sørlandet is a region with innovative and strong businesses, many of them world leaders in their field. Sørlandet Port of Knowledge is an important priority in the region.
In the old port, the area stretching from Grandhjørnet to Barbubukt is teeming with life. Sørlandet Port of Knowledge consists of four buildings: The Eureka building, Havnegården, Barbu brygge and from December 2016 also the Macgregor building.
From October 2012, 27.000m2 business and learning facilities have been settled outline, for a variety of local, regional and national businesses and knowledge institutions. Most of the space is rented to private companies, that have in common, the requirement of skilled labor, and the need of more space and modern facilities.
Arendal municipality has the following main objectives focus on Sørlandet Port of Knowledge:
- To develop a strong industrial cluster in southern Norway
- To support business with modern office facilities
- To make continuing education accessible for the adult population To help ensure that basic competence in the population increases, this in turn will help improve living conditions in the region.
In the Sørlandet Port of Knowledge there are many activities around the year. Some are closed conferences, and other open events where anyone can join and sign up.
